Football: the Carabins win the Mitchell Cup and head to the Vanier Cup finals in Quebec City
November 23, 2015
Congratulations to the 10 student athletes* from HEC Montréal who contributed to the 25-10 victory by the Université de Montréal Carabins football team over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon! This is the first time the Bleus have hoisted the Mitchell Cup, after taking the Uteck Cup in 2014. They’ve now won two Canadian semifinal trophies in a row.
The Carabins will play for the Vanier Cup, the top trophy in Canadian university football, next Saturday at the TELUS Stadium at Université Laval in Quebec City, for the second time in their history. The Bleus took their first national final ever last year in Montréal, with a 20-19 victory over the McMaster Marauders. This year they will be facing the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
