AEHEC: Supporting students for 50 years
March 31, 2017
For 50 years now, the Association des étudiants de HEC Montréal (AEHEC) has been helping BBA and preparatory year students, representing and speaking for them and giving them an opportunity to start building their network of contacts. The HEC student association plays a very important role for these future managers.
Every year the AEHEC is:- 300 events organized
- 4,200 students supported
- over 200 volunteers
- 15 active committees
And what about the next 50 years? The AEHEC hopes to make its student members more aware and mindful of tomorrow’s challenges. The association’s current executive has already started doing so, in fact, by combining festivities and practical activities to mark its 50th anniversary, at an event on March 25. It featured:
- 6 lectures, including 1 breakfast talk by Jean-Nicolas Guillemette, Executive Director of Uber
- 15 highly varied laboratories, ranging from kombucha making to creative journaling
- 12 workshops (massage, zootherapy, yoga, tattoos, ice cream and candy floss, shoe shines, etc.)
- 1 memorable celebration to finish off the day
About 600 people attended the lectures, laboratories and workshops and over 800 turned out for the evening celebration – a sold-out success.
Here’s wishing the AEHEC, which is holding elections this week, another 50 years of valuable support for students!
