Biography

Léon Courville was a Professor at HEC Montréal from 1975 to 1984 and Director of the Institute of Applied Economics from 1976 to 1981, when he succeeded Jacques Parizeau. Former President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Bank of Canada, he devoted a large part of his career to teaching and research. He launched his viticultural career in 1999 in the Eastern Townships and returned to HEC Montréal in 2010 as Adjunct Professor and Chairman of the Montreal Institute of Structured Finance and Derivatives.
