HEC Montréal honorary doctorates Committee

This committee was formed in 1995. The Regulations on the honorary doctorates committee were adopted by the Board of Directors on September 9, 2021.

Mandate

This committee has the following mandate:

  • The committee receives annually from the Honoris Causa and Emeritus Doctorates Committee of the Assembly of Professors proposals for the granting of honoris causa doctorates by the Université de Montreal.
  • The committee must analyze the proposed applications taking into account the files submitted, the nature of the recommendation made and the criteria set out by the Université de Montréal in the Guide relating to the choice of honorary doctors of the Université de Montréal;
  • The committee must then recommend one or two applications to the Board of Directors, depending on the number of honorary doctorates that will be awarded annually by the University of Montreal on behalf of HEC Montréal.

This committee meets once a year.
