Philippe Dicaire joins the Conseil des Gouverneurs

May 13, 2024

The HEC Montréal Foundation is pleased to announce that Philippe Dicaire (HEC Montréal 1996) has joined the esteemed Conseil des Gouverneurs in recognition of his long-standing generosity to HEC Montréal. He is its 135th member.

Philippe Dicaire

Dicaire has been unwavering in his support for future generations of leaders for over 20 years. He is driven by the conviction that the opportunity to study business, take part in international exchange programs and participate in university competitions should be open to everyone. In 2013, he let his alma mater know that he had made arrangements for a planned gift to HEC Montréal through a life insurance policy.

“I am proud to know that, by giving to the HEC Montréal Foundation, I am making it easier for extremely talented but less fortunate students to get ahead, so they can help Quebec thrive and shine on the international stage.”

Fuelled by a vision of a more equitable future, he has decided to make a further donation in support of female students who have barriers to overcome.

“Upping my contribution makes me especially happy because it means I can also help women pursue their professional ambitions despite whatever circumstances they may be facing, such as being a single parent or going back to school after some time away.”

“Philippe Dicaire is one of our most loyal donors. It is with tremendous gratitude that we are inducting him into the Conseil des Gouverneurs. His desire to reach out to younger generations and democratize access to higher education will empower many talented individuals to take hold of their future. Generosity like this can and does have a decisive impact on many a professional and personal journey.” — Michel Patry, President and CEO of the HEC Montréal Foundation

Combining group benefits and innovation

A born leader with solid expertise in the group benefits market in Quebec and the rest of Canada, Philippe Dicaire is a pioneer recognized for his outstanding contributions to advancing practices in group insurance and developing out-of-the-box solutions. He is currently a strategy and innovation consultant at Pinc. collectif, with over 20 years of experience in senior positions in insurance and technology solutions.

Giving back: A family tradition

In addition to his ongoing generosity to the HEC Montréal Foundation’s annual campaign over the years, Dicaire has designated the Foundation as one of the beneficiaries of a life insurance policy in his name, alongside his loved ones and a few other charitable organizations that are important to him.

“The way I see it, philanthropy is a way of having a lasting impact on others and sharing in a commitment to paying it forward,” he said. “It’s a tradition that started with my maternal grandfather, who was ahead of his time when it came to investing in the well-being of his community. The inspiring people I have met through HEC Montréal have only convinced me to keep on this path.”
