Spanish Courses

Before registering for a course, you must take an online placement test. Your registration will be automatically cancelled if you do not take the test or if you register for a course that does not correspond to the level obtained on the test. See the Registration section for more information.

Take the right course for your level to build your general knowledge of Spanish and learn some of the language skills you will need in an international business setting.

Business Spanish courses:

Worth three credits (students are responsible for making sure that a language course can be part of their program structure)
Intended for the HEC Montréal community
Develop all language skills: reading comprehension, writing and speaking skills, grammar, and business vocabulary.

REGISTRATION

Step 1

Before registering for a course, you must take an online placement test (not to be confused with the ELENHEC test). This is a free test. It lasts 90 minutes and evaluates your level of written and spoken Spanish.

New students in a preparatory year or enrolled in a BBA program – trilingual stream: the administrative office will register you for the test.
Other students: to register, email us and make sure you include your name and your HEC Montréal student number.

Your results will be available at ZoneCours > Gradebook within two weeks of your test date.

You are not required to take the placement test if you have taken:

a business Spanish course at HEC Montréal within the past two years
the placement test within the past year
the ELENHEC test within the past two years

Step 2

You must register for the course corresponding to you level, on HEC en ligne. Important note: Your registration will be cancelled if you do not select the recommended business Spanish course.
