The Department of Information Technology is a global leader in research and education in the field of Information and Digital Technologies

Research

Over the past five years (2018-2022), the professors in Information Technology (IT) department have achieved remarkable success in research. According to the ranking established by the Association for Information Systems (AIS), they have ranked in the following ranks for their publications appearing in eight top journals in the field:

• 2nd in Canada,
• 11th in the world outside the United States,
• 33rd in the world including the United States.

These results have remained consistently strong for about a decade, exceeding the 5-20-100  historical goals of the School.

In addition to their outstanding performance in these journals, the professors in the IT department are also engaged in research on current and socially relevant topics, which are published in top-tier journals. Their research areas cover a wide range of subjects, including:

• Artificial intelligence, e-government, digital health, algorithmic management, digital transformation, cybersecurity, system development, and human-machine interaction, among others.

Their dedication to these research areas generates knowledge that contributes to the understanding and resolution of contemporary organizational and societal challenges.
