The HEC Montréal Pôle médias announces a research partnership with Turbulent
November 15, 2016
The HEC Montréal Pôle médias is joining forces with Turbulent, a digital production firm, in a research partnership to analyze strategies and software for community engagement and monetizing content.
The strategies and software analyzed will be based on projects at Turbulent. The statistical and strategic research will examine the links between publications, the reactions of the online community and the effects on monetizing content. The goal is to identify the most promising practices for operating an online community.
“We are pleased to partner with Turbulent, with its leading expertise in web distribution, to help us continue to bridge the gap between academics and the business world,” said Sylvain Lafrance, Director of the Pôle médias and the Gestion journal.
This partnership will make it possible to combine Turbulent’s operational knowledge and expertise with HEC Montréal’s strengths in research and data analysis. The School’s Pôle médias will develop and validate analytical models in order to advance scientific knowledge in this field.
The Pôle Médias at HEC Montréal is devoted to research, training and knowledge transfer in the media and entertainment industries. To support Quebec firms in these sectors, it emphasizes dialogue between university researchers and business leaders facing daunting challenges in an industry undergoing far-reaching transformations.
