Isabelle Le Breton-Miller elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists

Full Professor Isabelle Le Breton-Miller (Management) has just been made a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.
The members of the College are selected by 51 Canadian universities and the National Research Council of Canada to represent the new generation of intellectual, artistic and scientific excellence in Canada.
Professor Le Breton-Miller (MSc and BBA, HEC Montréal), holder of the Chair of Succession and Family Enterprise, earned her PhD in Management from the University of London (Imperial College London). She has co-authored numerous publications, and is the Academic Supervisor for the School’s PhD in Administration program. She has won many other awards and distinctions, including the 2011 Chenelière Éducation/Gaëtan Morin award in recognition of the excellence of her publications.
Her research, teaching and publications focus on strategies, organizational design, governance structures and succession in family enterprises.
Her latest book, co-authored with Danny Miller, Managing for the Long Run: Lessons in Competitive Advantage from Great Family Businesses, was published by Harvard Business School Press and has been translated into six languages. (The French-language version, Réussir dans la durée : Leçons sur l’avantage concurrentiel des grandes entreprises familiales, was published by Presses de l’Université Laval). The book was recognized in 2012 by the Family Business Review and in 2015 by the Academy of Management Learning Education as one of the best three books of the past 25 years in the field of family business studies.
