KGP contest: two HEC Montréal teams take first place
November 21, 2016
HEC Montréal teams took first place in both the undergraduate and graduate categories of the KGP Contest. The interuniversity project management case competition was held on November 19 at the ÉSG UQAM business school.
In the undergraduate category, first place went to the team of BBA students made up of Olivier Gagnon, Sébastien Lourties, Laura Manzi and Corentin Mercier, coached by Stéphanie Leverdier (BBA 2008, Co-ordinator – Associations and Events at HEC Montréal).
In the graduate category, the team of Philippe Goudreault (MSc), Yann Pezzini (Specialized Graduate Diploma), Audrey Taillefer (MSc) and Gabriel Tessier (MSc) took the honours.
Philippe Goudreault (MSc) also won the “best speaker” award in the graduate category.
The theme of this 7th edition of the contest was “smart cities.” It brought together 40 teams of 4 students each from across Eastern Canada and New York State. The competing teams had to put their knowledge to work to solve two project management cases in a one-day intensive simulation. The first round was held in the morning, after which the top teams, as selected by a jury of professionals, went on to the final round. The KGP competition is an initiative of the association of Master’s in project management students at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) business school (ÉSG).
Congratulations to all the winners!
