A Colombian university awards an honorary doctorate to Honorary Professor Alain Chanlat

On August 25, the Universidad del Valle, in Cali, Colombia, awarded an honorary doctorate in Administration to Honorary Professor Alain Chanlat (Management).
With the distinction, the university recognized Professor Chanlat’s contribution to humanist management and organizational and administrative culture, and his influence in this field in Latin America.
The Universidad del Valle was founded in 1945. It is one of the country’s three largest universities and holds high-quality accreditation from the Colombian Department of Education.
About Alain Chanlat
Professor Chanlat taught at HEC Montréal for over 45 years, where he was known for his recognition of the diversity of human groups and individual uniqueness.
He is an acknowledged forerunner in the field of interdisciplinarity and humanism in management, and has always been interested in innovative teaching. To salute this aspect of his career, he was awarded the Jean Guertin Grand Prize for Teaching Excellence in 2009.
He taught BBA, MBA, MSc and PhD-level courses and directed some thirty PhD and master's theses.
He co-founded in 2004 and directed the Humanism, Management and Globalization Centre. He was made an HEC Montréal Honorary Professor when he retired, in 2014.
In addition to his teaching and research activities, Professor Chanlat has consulted both in the community and internationally.
