Nineteen students from the Republic of the Congo received their diplomas for completing the Specialized Graduate Diploma (DESS) in Energy Sector Management on January 20. Federico Pasin, Secretary General of HEC Montréal, and Hassan Taghvaï, Director of International Activities and Student Mobility, both attended the ceremony.
This is the 2nd cohort to graduate with this diploma in the Republic of the Congo since the program was introduced in 2014. It was offered once again with support from the Congolese government.
“We are very pleased to commend our new graduates on their success and to be able to count on our Congolese alumni, who are such enthusiastic ambassadors for HEC Montréal,” noted Mr. Taghvaï. “Over the years the School has developed valuable expertise in training programs in the energy sector and we hope to continue supporting African decision-makers in meeting the many challenges in this field.”
Under the academic direction of Pierre-Olivier Pineau, holder of the Chair in Energy Sector Management, this specialized graduate diploma is intended for participants from private companies, government ministries and organizations working in the natural resource sector in general and energy in particular. It consists of 18 courses along with a supervised study program.
