Two teams from HEC Montréal finished in 2nd place in the Concours KGP addressing the resolution and presentation of cases in project management, which took place on November 9 in Montréal.
The team consisting of Alexia Filion-Lauzon, Charles Langevin, Leah Salesse-Bardo and Adriana Marquis-Duzink distinguished itself from other bachelor’s-level competitors by making it to the second step of the podium.
Alexia Filion-Lauzon also won the “Best Speaker” award for his level.
This year’s case required students to step into the shoes of a project manager in a Non-Profit Organization. They had to develop a strategy to successfully implement a project management toolbox in a department whose employees are resistant to this new feature.
At the professional level, the team composed of students enrolled in the program of certificat en gestion de projets, Gaëtan Magnou, Cindy Amaya, Solange Parra and Audrey Daoust also achieved the second-best performance in this competition.
This time around, participants in this category had to assume the role of Vice-President, Innovation in a company specializing in gardening products. The challenge was to get members of a project team to adopt an agile approach, in order to better define the target audience for a new product line.
Both teams were coached by Stéphanie Leverdier, and the School’s graduate team was also assisted by full-time lecturer, Miguel Hernandez.
