ICAF award for the best presentation
May 31, 2019
Helmi Jedidi, a PhD student in Finance at HEC Montréal, received the overall award for the best presentation at the International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICAF), held on May 14 and 15 in Amsterdam. Note that this highly prestigious award rarely goes to a student.
The ICAF is an international conference bringing together university professors and PhD students to present their research findings on all aspects of accounting and finance.
Mr. Jedidi presented a paper entitled Testing for Information Asymmetry in the U.S. Mortgage Servicing Market, describing an original test based on one chapter of his doctoral thesis.
His research was directed by Professor Georges Dionne and conducted through the Canada Research Chair in Risk Management.
Mr. Jedidi also recently received an Award for Teaching Excellence from HEC Montréal, at a ceremony held by the HEC Montréal Foundation. The award recognizes the teaching contribution by a lecturer enrolled in the PhD in Administration program at HEC Montréal.
