HEC Montréal’s EQUIS accreditation renewed for the 4th time
December 3, 2020
HEC Montréal’s EQUIS accreditation, granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), has been renewed for the fourth straight time. With this prestigious recognition, valid for another five years, the School once again ranks among the world’s top business schools.
“It is always a source of great pride to see our School’s EQUIS accreditation renewed, for the past 20 years,” says HEC Montréal Director Federico Pasin. “It shows that HEC Montréal continues to offer programs and an exceptional experience that meet the highest international standards. For us, this recognition is a true seal of excellence.”
Most aspects of candidate educational institutions are evaluated as part of a highly rigorous and selective accreditation process, in particular all their study programs and their governance, students, faculty, executive education, internationalization, research and development, engagement with the community, and ethics, responsibility and sustainability.
HEC Montréal scored very well for the quality of its programs, students and faculty, its distinct expertise and its range of research activities, its connections with the world of practice and its contribution to the community.
The School first obtained EQUIS accreditation in 1999, and was re-accredited in 2004, 2010 and 2015. It also holds AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (Association of MBAs) accreditations.
This renewal means that HEC Montréal will remain one of the rare business schools worldwide to hold the three most prestigious international accreditations in management education: EQUIS, AACSB International and AMBA. Only 102 business schools, and only two in Canada, hold this three-fold mark of distinction.
