HEC Montréal places 3rd in international sustainable development competition
Accounting for Sustainability International Case Competition
April 4, 2022
The team representing HEC Montréal’s MBA program at the international Accounting for Sustainability (A4SICC) case resolution competition finished 3rd, as announced at the event finale, which took place virtually on March 25 and 26, 2022.
Organized by the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto, the competition brought together universities from all throughout the world. The teams were challenged to design a financial and business model that would contribute to the decarbonization of the economy.
Our delegation, composed of Steven Caine, Shubham Chowdhury, Ricardo Jordan, and Samantha Streater, presented a project entitled Fenergy. A summary of their proposal to the jury: to use iron powder as an energy replacement solution to coal, to extend the useful life of existing thermal power plants and thereby avoid investing massively in new transport structures.
The participants’ work was carried out over 5 months preceding the finale. All throughout the process, the HEC Montréal team was supported by course Lecturer and Sustainable Development Coordinator, Jean-Michel Champagne.
The HEC Montréal team has earned a place on the podium of this prestigious competition for the 3rd time in 3 years.
