Université de Montréal (UdeM) and its affiliated schools recently received recognition in a ranking of top global universities published by British organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) that reports on university performance.
For 2023, UdeM and its schools, including HEC Montréal, are ranked 116th in the world, 6th in Canada and 2nd in Quebec.
The following criteria are considered for the ranking:
- Academic reputation – 40% (based on surveys conducted among professors around the world)
- Faculty/student ratio – 20%
- Citations per faculty – 20% (data from a 5-year period drawn from Elsevier database, SCOPUS)
- Employer reputation – 10%
- International student ratio and international faculty ratio – 5% + 5%
Université de Montréal scored particularly well in the reputation indicator.
For the citations indicator, when observed by discipline, the University performed better this year in Business & Management than for all disciplines combined last year, making HEC Montréal’s contribution quite positive in this regard.
