HEC Montreal bags 2nd place in Oslo
BI International Case Competition

The team representing HEC Montréal at the BI International Case Competition finished in 2nd place overall in this international case solving competition. The event took place from February 12 to 17 in Oslo, Norway.
During this competition, which hosted the most prestigious schools from all over the world, participating teams had to solve two real-life business cases.
The task was accomplished with flying colours by Florentine Gagnon, Alexane Ménard and Tomy Pelletier – 3rd year students from the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program – and Philippe Tremblay, a 2nd year BBA student. Anne Bourhis, from the University Competitions Service acted as their advisor during this competition.

The first case was related to Mesta, a Norwegian company that provides services in the field of road construction and civil engineering. The task consisted in proposing a methodology to the company to analyze its cost structure and operations.
For the second case, the teams had to help the software development company CodeIT transition to an ARR (annual recurring revenue) business model.
HEC Montréal won 2nd place in the first case and 3rd place in the second case. The School was beaten in the overall ranking by the American University of Beirut.
With its performance in Oslo, HEC Montréal has now obtained the qualifying points to participate in the 2023 Champions’ Trophy.
