Gérard Parizeau award goes to Pascale Lehoux

HEC Montréal has presented the 2024 Gérard Parizeau Award to Pascale Lehoux, Full Professor in the Department of Health Management, Evaluation and Policy at Université de Montréal (UdeM).
The prestigious award, accompanied by a cash prize of $30,000, is presented alternately by HEC Montréal and UdeM. This year it salutes Professor Lehoux’s outstanding contribution to the field of health innovation.
During the official award ceremony at HEC Montréal on September 18, 2024, the winner will give a lecture on the following theme: “L’innovation responsable en santé à l’interface des politiques économiques et de santé. Ou comment sortir des sentiers battus pour penser la gouvernance de l’innovation au 21e siècle?”.
About Pascale Lehoux
Pascale Lehoux holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, a master’s degree in planning and a PhD in public health from UdeM, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship in science and technology dynamics from the University of Amsterdam. Here are some highlights from her academic career, which began in 1998 at the Department of Health Administration at UdeM:
- She held the Canada Research Chair in Health Innovations from 2005 to 2015. Her seven-year research program on responsible health innovation (entitled In Fieri) was ranked 22nd out of 150 programs funded in the competition of the Foundation Scheme of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
- She was co-chair of Research at the International Observatory of the Societal Impacts of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology from 2018 to 2022.
- She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux from 2018 to 2023 and has been its Scientific Vice-President since last year.
- She has published two books and 165 articles, in addition to developing numerous knowledge mobilization initiatives.
About the Gérard Parizeau Fund and Award
The Gérard Parizeau Fund was created in 2000 and honors the memory of Mr. Gérard Parizeau, a leading figure in the Quebec insurance industry. Through the annual presentation of the Gérard Parizeau Award, it pays tribute to luminaries in the fields of management, economics and history, by highlighting the value and originality of the thinking and work of researchers, professors or people of action.
