Gilles Caporossi joins Calcul Québec’s scientific council

Professor Gilles Caporossi from the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal has been appointed as the School’s representative on the scientific council of Calcul Québec.
Along with 14 other researchers from the academic and research communities, Professor Caporossi will be part of a permanent advisory committee to the board of directors and the general management of the Quebec organization.

Calcul Québec: a key player in scientific innovation
Calcul Québec is a non-profit organisation whose members are academic institutions and research centres. It is devoted to providing academic and research communities with state-of-the-art computing infrastructure and expertise. This contributes to the advancement of knowledge in all branches of learning and to the training of highly qualified personnel capable of efficiently operating modern computing systems.
The NPO provides research and innovation communities with access to an independent computing infrastructure including classic supercomputers, a cloud computing infrastructure and even a quantum computer, all hosted in Quebec. Accompanied by local support and training, this infrastructure ensures the cultivation of expertise for the economic development of Quebec and Canada.
About Gilles Caporossi
Professor Gilles Caporossi from the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal is a member of the Group for Research in Decision Analysis (GERAD).
He holds an MSc from HEC Montréal and a PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Polytechnique Montréal. His areas of expertise include Artificial intelligence, Data mining, Neural networks, Algorithmics, and Combinatorial optimization.
