The HEC Montréal Entrepreneurship Hub excels in two award ceremonies

The Entrepreneurship Hub, its programs, team members, and the companies it has supported, were all honoured during two events in the Montréal startup ecosystem on November 28 this year.
Startup Community Awards 2024
Several nominations were collected during the 2024 Startup Community Awards Gala, an event organized by Montreal NewTech with support from Startupfest and presented by Desjardins Entreprises.
Entrepreneur Sylvain Carle, who is very involved with the activities of the Hub – especially with La Base entrepreneuriale and La Certif' – won the “Investor Community Champion of the Year” Award.
The Hub and its collaborators were nominated 8 times among the finalists this year, making it the organization with the most nominations in this gala:
- Best Program of the Year: HEC Montréal’s Base entrepreneuriale, which includes renowned incubators and accelerators such as Éclosion, Parcours Connexion, Rémi Marcoux Entrepreneurial Track, Entreprism, the National Bank Accelerator, and Soirées Connexion.
- Impactful Initiative of the Year: La Certif', certification in entrepreneurial support.
- Best Mentor: Julien Vasseur, in charge of support at La Base entrepreneuriale.
- Best Mentor: Jocelyn Brouillard, mentor and coach at La Certif’ and La Base entrepreneuriale.
- Startup of the Year: Juno Technologies, a company that received support from La Base entrepreneuriale.
- Investor of the Year: Sylvain Carle, Entrepreneur in Residence at La Base entrepreneuriale.
- Investor of the Year: Serge Beauchemin, Adjunct Professor at HEC Montréal, who regularly participates in various programs of the Entrepreneurship Hub.
- Ripple Effect: Luis Cisneros Martinez, co-Director of the Entrepreneurship Hub and La Base entrepreneuriale, for his positive, sustainable and exceptional impact on the startup ecosystem.

Grand Prize Cooperathon 2024
The Grand Prize Cooperathon Startup Beta was awarded on the same evening too, marking the end of a 6-week support and training program.
The Grand Prize – accompanied by a $10,000 scholarship – and the People’s Choice Award went to CIVISION, a company that successfully completed the Rémi Marcoux Entrepreneurial Track and the National Bank Accelerator – HEC Montréal. CIVISION co-founders Nicolas Iglesias and Elisa Groslier are also graduates of our study programs. The former obtained a certificat en analytique d’affaires (Certificate in Business Analytics) and the latter, a certificat en gestion de l’innovation (Certificate in Innovation Management).
