$3.3 million towards professionalization of the sporting environment

February 5, 2024

The HEC Montréal Sports Management Hub will be the main partner in a total investment of $3.3 million from the Government of Quebec to develop best management practices and better equip managers in the sports community.

Other beneficiaries of this funding include the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés de l’Université Laval and l’Institut sur la gouvernance d’organisations privées et publiques.

This partnership will be dedicated to implementing professional development measures and opportunities on topics such as governance, organizational ethics, management and leadership. This new investment responds to a need expressed by the Quebec sports community, for instance in the investigation report conducted by the HEC Montréal Sports Management Hub, in 2021.

“Contributing to this professionalization movement is very stimulating for the administrative, faculty and research team of the HEC Montréal Sports Management Hub,” said Eric Brunelle, director of the HEC Montréal Sports Management Hub and full professor in the School’s Department of Management. “It’s somehow in our DNA, and we’re all very proud to be able to help concretely. ”
