Research and knowledge transfer: record funding of $45 million in 2022-2023

Total funding for research and knowledge transfer activities at HEC Montréal reached a record high in 2022-2023, amounting to $45 million, thanks in particular to increased support from the provincial and federal governments. This is revealed in the annual research and knowledge transfer report which has just been published by the School and which demonstrates its exceptional progress in these sectors.

The document highlights several major achievements, including the creation of 4 research chairs:

Among other highlights, it is worth noting that the success rate of the School’s faculty members in major funding competitions is 75% over 5 years, up by 15% from last year, thereby exceeding the provincial and national averages.

 

Influence beyond borders

A total of 277 scientific articles were published by HEC Montréal researchers in 2022-2023, including 35 in prestigious journals ranked in the Financial Times or University of Texas at Dallas lists, another record for the School.

Moreover, 21 full professors have attained over 5,000 citations in the course of their careers, including 7 who have accumulated upwards of 15,000. Finally, HEC Montréal jumped 8 points and was ranked 92nd among the world’s 100 most prolific business schools for its number of research publications, according to the 2022-2023 ranking by the University of Texas at Dallas.
