UdeM and its affiliated schools move up in the QS Sustainability Rankings

The Université de Montréal and its affiliated schools, HEC Montréal and Polytechnique Montréal, rallied sharply in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025.
They are now ranked 65th worldwide, whereas they were ranked 81st last year. UdeM and its schools are ranked 7th in Canada, up 4 spots.
The QS Sustainability Rankings evaluate performance in terms of sustainable transition. They are based on a series of 52 indicators divided into three categories: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance.
Data is obtained from various sources, including the Elsevier bibliometric database, annual QS reputation surveys, and institutional data and statistics.
The Université de Montréal and its affiliated schools have particularly distinguished themselves in the field of environmental impact, moving up 45 spots to occupy 68th rank. They have also made significant progress in the teaching of sustainable development and have climbed 78 places to reach 68th position. The impact of education has also witnessed major growth, with a gain of 48 places (85th position).
And finally, UdeM and its schools shot up 88 places in the sustainable institutions section and are now in the 153rd position.
