3rd place in the Canadian Case Series for an MBA team
April 8, 2025
A team from the HEC Montréal MBA program performed remarkably well by securing 3rd place in a case-solving competition entitled the Canadian Case Series (CCS). This year’s event took place on March 27–28 in Vancouver.
This is the fifth time in 2025 that an MBA team from the School has made it to the podium.
The group consisted of Antoine Delage-Laurin, Rayane El-Hraiki and Valeriya Patrei. The team was supported by coach Daniel Lone in the first and final rounds.
Tackling Canadian entrepreneurial challenges
The CCS is a case competition for business students currently enrolled in Canadian universities at the undergraduate or graduate level. This year’s theme focused on productivity. The CCS invited participants to develop strategies that boost efficiency, drive growth, and strengthen the competitive edge of a Canadian business presented in a case.

All teams competed in an initial virtual round during the winter term. The top five teams, including the one from HEC Montréal, were then selected to participate in the final round in Vancouver, where they presented their refined strategies in front of a panel of judges.
