Bruno Lussier wins award for paper at NCSM conference

Bruno Lussier, Associate Professor at the Department of Marketing, HEC Montréal, recently won the Best Competitive Research Paper Award at the National Conference in Sales Management (NCSM) held in Cincinnati, March 19-21. He won this honour along with Colleen McClure, Dayle Childs, and Nawar N. Chaker, with whom he co-authored the paper. This prestigious distinction highlights their research excellence and commitment to the advancement of knowledge in sales management.

 

Understanding the well-being of middle managers

Entitled “Stuck in the Middle: Understanding the Well-Being of Frontline Middle Managers”, the award-winning paper explores the well-being of frontline middle managers. These managers occupy a unique and challenging position, serving as a bridge between management and frontline staff. They must manage organizational objectives while supervising their teams, creating a delicate balance. Bruno Lussier's research aims to understand the unique stressors that frontline middle managers face, explore the specific consequences of their well-being, and delineate the contextual influences that impact the relationships between well-being, its antecedents and its consequences.

The NCSM conference is a leading annual event that brings together scientists and practitioners in the field of sales management. The Best Competitive Research Paper Award is given to the paper that presents the most significant and innovative contributions to the field.

 

Bruno Lussier's background and expertise

Bruno Lussier holds an MBA in Business Management from Université Laval and a PhD in Management Science from Université Grenoble Alpes. His areas of expertise include sales force effectiveness, sales management, business development, business-to-business (B2B) marketing, and mental health and well-being in the workplace. Before joining the academic world, he worked as a consultant, trainer and manager for several pharmaceutical companies, providing his customers with customized business solutions.
