Gabrielle Marre, winner of the Délie ta langue! contest
April 10, 2025
HEC Montréal was once again proudly represented at the Délie ta langue! (Loosen your tongue) elocution contest. Gabrielle Marre, a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student from the School won the Prix du public this year and was awarded $500 by Acfas.
To prepare for this competition, Gabrielle Marre attended several training sessions and workshops conducted by actress and voice and diction teacher Martine Pype-Rondeau.
On March 30th this year, Gabrielle delivered a powerful oral presentation entitled “Tourner en rond” (Going Round in Circles) in front of an audience that was captivated right from the start.
She began by recounting how humanity seems to go round in circles without learning from its mistakes, by eloquently using the metaphor of a fly hitting a windowpane. She then skillfully wove a powerful critique of modern society, the media, and politics, emphasizing that the best way to finally break this repetitive cycle is through critical thinking.
Her brilliant oral presentation ended on a note of hope, calling for collective intelligence and action for a better future.
