HEC Montréal ranks 2nd worldwide for case study competitions in 2024

January 14, 2025

Student teams from the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program proudly defended HEC Montréal’s colours during various international case competitions last year. So much so that a compilation based on the results for 2024 puts HEC Montréal in 2nd place worldwide, up from the two previous years.

According to this compilation, which is conducted annually by the University of Auckland, New Zealand, participating schools could accumulate points (between 0 and 6 per event) based upon the achieved results.

HEC Montréal earned a total of 16 points, along with Singapore Management University (SMU) and National University of Singapore (NUS). Only American University of Beirut (AUB) performed better overall and topped the world rankings with 20 points.

Our School also finished first in Canada for the third year in a row, ahead of University of British Columbia (UBC) and University of Toronto (U of T) which scored 12 and 10 points respectively in the 2024 rankings.

Here are the stellar rankings for this circuit in 2024:

The fact that HEC Montréal won at least one of the ten qualifying competitions during 2024 guarantees its participation in the Champions Trophy Case Competition, which will take place in Auckland, New Zealand, from January 26 to February 1, 2025.

The University Competitions Service (SCU) wishes to thank all the alumni for their help in 2024, as well as the HEC Montréal Alumni Association, for its financial support.
