Peter Harms appointed affiliated professor

HEC Montréal announces the appointment of Peter Harms as Affiliated Professor in the Department of Management.

Peter Harms is a global expert in leadership and is the current Frank Schultz Endowed Professor of Management at Culverhouse College of Business, University of Alabama. He has already been collaborating for several years as an associate researcher in the research and knowledge transfer activities of HEC Montréal’s Pôle D (Top Executives and Strategic Management Hub).

By officially joining the HEC Montréal faculty, he will contribute to raising the profile of the School and Pôle D through his research projects, teaching activities and several other joint actions with the Hub.

About Peter Harms

Peter Harms is a renowned expert in leadership assessment and development, personality, and resilience. He earned his PhD in Personality Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He has published over 150 articles in top-tier journals, with his work cited more than 23,000 times. Peter Harms ranks among the top 2% of scholars worldwide in research impact, according to Stanford University.

He has received numerous awards, including recognition as one of the “100 Knowledge Leaders of Tomorrow” by the St. Gallen Symposium and the Mid-Career Standout Scholar Award from the Network of Leadership Scholars.

He is a fellow of both the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Association for Psychological Science. He serves on the scientific advisory board of Hogan Assessment Systems and has collaborated with organizations like the U.S. Army, NASA and the U.S. Department of Labor. He also holds editorial leadership roles in prominent psychology journals.
