Research and knowledge transfer activities continued to soar in 2023–2024

HEC Montréal experienced a year of growth and success in 2023–2024, in terms of research and knowledge transfer. Total funding for its research and knowledge transfer activities reached $46.2 million.

This exceptional performance is the result of an increase, not only in the number of partnership agreements, but also in the number of grant proposals submitted and awarded. In this regard, the School’s success rate has managed to remain higher than provincial and federal averages, i.e., 63% over 5 years.

 

Reach and influence

HEC Montréal researchers published a total of 259 scientific articles, including 33 in prestigious journals ranked in the Financial Times and University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) lists. Furthermore, the School’s faculty members bore testimony to the influence and international recognition of their work. In fact, 21 full professors have accumulated over 5,000 citations in the course of their careers, while 17 associate professors have accumulated 1,500 citations in the course of theirs.

The School was listed 67th in the world and 3rd in Canada for its research impact, in the Financial Times Aggregated Research Ranking, and it was also ranked as one of the world’s 100 most prolific business schools for its number of research publications, according to the UTD ranking.

 

Notable achievements

This year’s highlights include the creation of the Centre of Expertise in Value-based Healthcare Innovation Management (CEGISOV) and the Research Chair in the Demolinguistic Situation and Language Policies in Quebec.
