Launch of the Next-Generation Program: training Indigenous leaders
Monday March 3, 2025
Montréal, Monday, March 3, 2025 – First Nations Executive Education (FNEE), powered by Executive Education HEC Montréal, is proud to announce the launch of the first edition of the Next-Generation Program, an inspiring initiative designed to support Indigenous youth. The first cohort will gather at the Ilnu Museum in Mashteuiatsh, from Tuesday, March 4, at 9:00 a.m. to Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.This innovative program is the result of a year-long co-creation process with key partners, including First Nations Quebec-Labrador Youth Network, Mikana, Puamun Meshkenu, New Paths Foundation and Wapikoni. This fruitful collaboration has ensured that the program is genuinely aligned with the needs, challenges and aspirations expressed by First Nations youth.
A Unique Opportunity for Indigenous Youth
This intensive three-day program is aimed at Indigenous youth aged 18 to 35, who wish to explore their future and develop essential leadership skills. Through a series of workshops, training sessions, and group discussions, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their abilities and gain key tools for their professional and personal journeys. The program is built around three essential themes:- Cultivating the Future: An introduction to politics for the next generation.
- Speaking with Impact: The art of public speaking
- Optimizing Time: Methods for identifying and achieving goals.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to empower and equip young First Nations leaders. FNEE aims to create a dynamic learning environment where knowledge exchange and transmission are at the heart of the experience.
Due to high demand for this program, a second cohort is already scheduled to take place from October 21 to 23, 2025.
Media Invitation
FNEE invites the media to meet with the participants of this first edition of the program on Thursday, March 6, 2025, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., in Mashteuiatsh. This will be an opportunity to highlight the aspirations and perspectives of the next generation of Indigenous leaders.
Media representatives are also invited to attend a conference by Atikamekw artist Eruoma Awashish, focusing on her artistic approach, on Wednesday, March 5, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
