The TAGE MAGE Admission Test

Definition

TAGE MAGE is an admissions test that measures the skills of applicants seeking to begin or continue pursuing business studies. It assesses verbal, problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.

Preparing for the test

We encourage you to prepare for the test using texts that can be found at the Coop, at the School’s library or in the online resources in the section “Se préparer” on the TAGE MAGE website.

Taking the test

You have the opportunity to take the TAGE MAGE test twice in a calendar year, once between January and June and once between July and December.

You can register for the TAGE MAGE test even if you are not applying to HEC Montréal.

Registration

Enrol online and make a secured payment up to five days before the date of the test or until maximum capacity is reached.

Reimbursement

To cancel your registration, write to reg.examen@hec.ca. Please note that no reimbursements will be made.

Transfert

You can change the date of your test with no additional fees by going to the online registration platform at least five days before the date of the test for which you initially registered.

If you wish to postpone your test after the last date posted on the site, please write to reg.examen@hec.ca. We will reimburse you for the cost of the ticket, excluding ticketing fees. You will receive confirmation by e-mail. You will have to purchase a new ticket when the new dates are posted.

Score

Test score is considered an important part of your application for the Master’s Degrees, MBA and PhD. You should therefore have a score comparable to the average obtained by the candidates. Consult the minimum recommended score under the "Admission" tab of your program.

Availability

You will receive an email explaining how to view your test result online a few days after the test.

Transmission

You are responsible for submitting your result to the university to which you are applying.

Validity

Your result is valid for five years starting from the date you took the test.
