Applying for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
Citizens from certain countries need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada.
The eTA is issued automatically with the initial study permit. It is valid for five years or until your passport expires.
Suggestion
A new eTA will not be required if you are not planning to leave and come back to Canada by plane. However, we do recommend that you apply for one, in case you need to take an emergency flight.
