What is an internship?

Depending on your program, you will have the chance to carry out an internship, a supervised project, or an integrative project during your studies. Let’s take a closer look at each of these projects. Please note that you must verify with your program for a credited internship.

Internship

Internships give students the opportunity to explore, develop their career, and build new professional skills, while also contributing and bringing new ideas to the organization hosting the internship. This is a time of hands-on training and learning, and a chance to fine-tune your skills relating to your field of study.

Examples of the responsibilities of a BBA intern

Marketing:

  • Participate in developing a communication/marketing plan
  • Create communication and launch tools for promos
  • Develop new marketing strategies
  • Help organize and manage events
  • Help conduct market studies

Finance:

  • Conduct analyses and build investment portfolios 
  • Advise clients on the best strategies to grow their accumulated capital 
  • Support and assist in financial model updates and other analyses 
  • Analyze financial models within different sector groups

Supervised Project

The supervised project is a major project during which you provide in-depth expertise in your field of specialization. You may provide potential solutions related to a company project or issue.

Keep in mind that your project must include an analysis, action, and, if possible, recommendations for the organization’s managers.

The integration project demonstrates that you have reached the level of competence required to provide a thorough, rigorous and original analysis of a relevant and complex management topic.
