The Sustainable Transition Office
The Sustainable Transition Office (STO) ensures that HEC Montréal’s sustainable development efforts are cohesive and efficient. The STO is responsible for managing and implementing, with other stakeholders, the school’s Sustainable Development, Social Responsibility, and Ethics Action Plan.
Our mandate
- Implementing HEC Montréal’s sustainable development policy and action plan
- Ensuring accountability to the School’s administration
- Supporting the HEC Montréal community in their sustainable development actions and activities
- Organizing activities and events that reflect and reaffirm the school’s commitments.
The STO also ensures that HEC Montréal:
- Takes part to the discussion at various fora
- Contributes to conversations taking place at the school
- Shares its knowledge with the community
Helping HEC Montréal deliver on its commitments
Following its 2019–2023 planning exercise, HEC Montréal chose to place sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and ethics (SD, CSR and ethics) at the core of its mission. The school also chose to promote and apply these concepts as a throughline in all its activities. The Sustainable Transition Office plays a key role in the implementation of the school’s commitments in this area.
Supported by a rich ecosystem
The Sustainable Transition Office plays a unifying role within a robust SD, CSR and ethics ecosystem. In addition to HEC Montréal community members, this ecosystem brings together university groups, institutional and social partners, international organizations and academics who conceptualize and guide sustainable development efforts. The collaboration of this diverse group of stakeholders makes it possible for the school to achieve its mission.
The Sustainable Development, Social Responsibility, and Ethics Action Plan
HEC Montréal has set ambitious targets and hopes to become a leader in sustainable transition. It has developed a realistic action plan that covers a wide range of activities and is a result of community consultations to define key questions and zero in on the school’s needs. The action plan includes strategic indicators for tracking our progress.
